• The boy had made it nearly 500 yards from home. Steve safely brought him to nearby deputies, ending the tense search.

• The venue sits on land now valued at around $3–4 million per acre, up from $3.1 million for 84 acres in 1995.

• Amazon is building a 181-acre campus across the street, and Google’s data centers are already behind it.

• A new proposal would bring two more 110-foot data centers directly east of the venue’s parking lot.

• The county’s 2016 decision to include the venue in its data center overlay district has made the area a hotspot for tech expansion.

Why it matters: If Jiffy Lube Live sells, Prince William could lose a major cultural and economic anchor. The venue brings in hundreds of thousands of concertgoers each year, supports seasonal jobs, and generates tax revenue. But the land’s skyrocketing value makes a potential sale tempting, especially as the data center market explodes.

The big picture: Live Nation says it isn’t going anywhere, for now. Despite persistent rumors, officials say the entertainment giant has no current plans to sell. Still, fewer shows are on the calendar this year, and elected leaders say they’re keeping a close eye on the situation.

What’s next: The county board may revisit its decision to allow data centers in the overlay district, as concerns grow over tech development displacing long-standing community assets. Supervisor Deshundra Jefferson said she’s rethinking her stance, warning that “data centers run amok.”

The bottom line: For now, the music plays on at Jiffy Lube Live—but with data centers rising on all sides, the pressure to sell is growing louder by the day.
