đĽ Why These Northern Virginia Homes Are NOT Selling⌠But Others Are!
With a competitive market and inventory levels shifting, homes that are priced well and marketed effectively are flying off the market, while others just sit.
In this video, I break down why some homes are sitting while others get multiple offers, and how you can avoid making the same mistakes. Whether you're looking to sell in Fairfax, Loudoun, or Prince William County, I give you actionable tips on how to get your home sold quickly and for top dollar.
đŤ Hershey Brings a Hands-On Candy Experience to Tysons
Driving the news: Hershey Super Sweet Adventure is now open at Tysons Corner Center, giving Northern Virginia families a new indoor attraction built around candy-themed play, hands-on activities, and photo-friendly spaces.
The experience officially opened on March 6 on Level 1 and marks the brandâs East Coast debut.
Details:
Location: Tysons Corner Center, Level 1, 1961 Chain Bridge Rd., Tysons.
Time to plan for: at least 60 minutes.
Participant tickets: from $19.99. Companion tickets: $14.99.
Hours: closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays; open Monday, Thursday, and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; last entry is one hour before close.
Party room capacity: up to 30 guests.
Inside:
Guests move through a story-based workshop with hands-on zones tied to Hershey brands, including launching âpeanut butterâ balls into oversized REESEâS cups, turning up JOLLY RANCHER flavor with light, color, and sound, designing custom HERSHEYâS KISSES wrappers, and exploring TWIZZLERS maze and spinning elements.
Participant tickets include entry on the selected date, a Sweet Seeker badge and lanyard, a full-size My HERSHEYâS Bar with a customizable photo wrapper, and added treats. Companion tickets are available for chaperones.
The Tysons version also includes new features for its East Coast run, including a Bubble Yum activation and a grand finale bar-wrapper personalization moment.
Between the lines: The experience is built for all ages, but it is clearly set up to appeal to families looking for active fun, birthday-party options, and easy weekend plans.
The attached retail store also widens the appeal by letting mall visitors stop in even if they do not buy a full experience ticket.
Get ready: Pre-purchased tickets currently get priority, though limited standby tickets may be available at the door.
Free parking and access near Garage A should make the attraction an easy add-on for shoppers, spring break visitors, and birthday groups in the weeks ahead.
đĽ Northern Virginia is Building A NEW City in Woodbridge
Are you ready for a massive transformation in Woodbridge, VA?
Woodbridge is getting a brand-new, walkable "mini-city" unlike anything Prince William County has seen! The Quartz District is a 145-acre master-planned community featuring over 1,000 new townhomes and condos by Stanley Martin, plus 332,000 sq ft of retail and office space. Best of all? It's bringing the very first Whole Foods to the county!
In this video, I break down everything you need to know about this development, including the five home models (Tessa, Julianne, Hugo, Jenkins, and Maya), the unique ownership structures, and the unbeatable location just minutes from I-95, Fort Belvoir, and the VRE. We also cover the upcoming $61 million interchange project and whether buying into this community is the right move for you.
đď¸ D.C. Gears Up for Freedom 250 in Americaâs 250th Year
The Freedom 250 Grand Prix is bringing INDYCAR to Washington for a first-of-its-kind street race on the National Mall next August. Officials recently unveiled the 1.7-mile course and event logo, putting the city at the center of a national sports and tourism moment.
Driving the news: Washington, D.C., will host the Freedom 250 Grand Prix on Aug. 22-23, 2026, marking the first auto race on the National Mall and nearby city streets as part of the countryâs 250th birthday celebration.
Details:
The course will run 1.7 miles with seven turns.
A .4-mile frontstretch on Pennsylvania Avenue will give fans a direct view framed by the U.S. Capitol and Washington Monument.
The track will pass major landmarks, including the National Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art and the National Archives.
Officials said the weekend will be free and open to the public.
Organizers also unveiled the event logo and a custom red, white and blue INDYCAR that will tour the D.C., Maryland and Virginia region ahead of race weekend.
Between the lines: The event has support from federal officials, the D.C. mayorâs office, INDYCAR, FOX Sports and Monumental Sports & Entertainment. That broad backing shows this race is being built as a civic showcase as much as a sports event.
Whatâs next: Construction on the circuit is set to begin later this summer. Organizers said most roads near the U.S. Capitol and National Mall are expected to stay open during much of the setup, while the branded INDYCAR will make stops across the DMV to build local interest.
đ¨ Officials on Alert After Unidentified Drones Spotted Near the White House
Unidentified drones over a U.S. military base arenât something you expect to see in Washington, D.C. But thatâs exactly whatâs happening, and itâs raising new questions about security close to home.
Driving the news: Multiple unidentified drones were spotted flying over Fort Lesley J. McNair, a key U.S. Army installation just minutes from the White House.
Details:
The sightings happened during a single night within the past 10 days
The base houses top officials, including the Secretary of State and Defense Secretary
The origin of the drones is still unknown
The incident triggered increased security measures and internal White House discussions
If you want the full breakdown, you can read the original Washington Post report here.
Why it matters: I always remind people that in the D.C. region, national security isnât something happening far away, itâs part of daily life.
For people living in and around the area, this is a clear example of how closely local communities sit next to major federal operations.
That proximity brings attention, investment, and economic stability to the region, but it also means events like this can unfold right in our backyard.
The big picture: This isnât happening in isolation. The drone activity comes during a period of rising global tension, especially tied to U.S. military activity in the Middle East.
In response, the U.S. has:
Increased security at multiple bases
Issued a global alert for diplomatic posts
Raised threat levels at several installations
Officials are also watching for any potential spillover threats on U.S. soil.
Between the lines: What stands out to me is the uncertainty. Itâs not just that drones were spotted, itâs that no one knows who was behind them or why.
That lack of clarity is whatâs driving concern inside government circles.
Whatâs next: Investigators are working to identify the source and intent behind the drones. Until then, security measures are likely to stay heightened in and around key installations.
Moments like this are a reminder that the line between international events and local impact is thinner than most people think.
